A field trial for seamless handover between mobile WiMAX and Wi-Fi is scheduled sometime in November together with Hitachi, Acca Networks announced on November 8.
This trial is an extension of another field trial which Acca Networks has been carried out in Yokosuka Research Park since June.
Hitachi's seamless handover solution is deployed in the field trial, whose objective is to validate FMC, based on WiMAX for outdoor with superior mobility, and wired broadband service for indoor use with wireless LAN access.
